About the customer
DSM PENTAPHARM is based in Aesch BL, Switzerland, and specializes in the manufacture of diagnostic reagents and active pharmaceutical ingredients for blood coagulation. The product portfolio includes chromogenic substrates, enzyme inhibitors, biochemicals, purified snake venom enzymes, reagents and IVD kits as well as APIs (Active Pharmaceutical Ingredients).
The company has been active in the research, development and manufacture of products in this specialized field since 1948.
The project
The project focused on the following areas:
- Definition and development of a cloud strategy including a concept for the introduction of Microsoft 365 services
- Support in setting up the complete Microsoft 365 tenant according to best practices with user synchronization and new client rollout options
- Migration of existing on-premises mailboxes to Exchange Online
- Introduction of SmartPortal365 as a company portal and for the provision of standardized workspaces
- Support with the migration of existing content from SharePoint 2013 to Microsoft 365 (OneDrive for Business and SharePoint workspaces)
- Consulting and implementation of change and adoption workshops incl. end user training
The initial situation involved setting up a new Microsoft 365 tenant and mapping the first workflows of a modern digital workplace in the cloud. In addition to setting up the Microsoft 365 tenant according to best practices and rolling out the new Office version, the existing Exchange mailboxes were migrated to Exchange Online. The SmartPortal365 product was also introduced to provide users with a simple and standardized introduction to the world of Microsoft 365. In addition to the company portal, SmartPortal365 was also used to implement the standardized provision of workspaces (Workspaces, Projects and Department Sites) according to defined templates under Microsoft Teams and SharePoint Online. In addition, the existing on-premises content was migrated from SharePoint 2013 to SharePoint Online, Teams and OneDrive for Business.
