As the Swiss market leader in the processing of meat and convenience food, Bell Food Group Ltd employs around 12,000 people at 64 locations in 15 European countries. Since 2022, the Group has been divided into the divisions Bell Switzerland, Bell International, Eisberg, Hilcona, Hügli and Finance/Services.

Migration preparation and migration in the context of SharePoint

Analysis and planning

During the planning and preparation phase, we examined which migration scenario was possible. The Bell Food Group wanted a 1:1 migration of the content. This meant that the content contained in the iceberg tenant was transferred directly to the Bell Food Group's Microsoft 365 tenant. A detailed analysis of the existing structure, components, content, pages, custom solutions, etc. and the documentation of the results made it possible to categorize potential problems. This made it possible to decide which content should be migrated, archived or deleted. Based on the results of the analysis, a migration strategy and a concept as well as detailed planning were created.

The design

The migration was carried out in different phases (various test and delta migrations). During the migration, the migration status and progress was continuously checked and monitored. The migration was then completed on a defined weekend and the new environment was released to users.
